3 Reasons Why Smart Phones Are NOT Replacing Television
This blog is going to be discussing the 3 Reasons Why Smart Phones Are NOT Replacing Television anytime soon! There will always be those people that decide to argue in favor of their smart phone, yet most of THOSE people will find these three reasons quite difficult to make any type of argument against!
Reason 1-Phones have tiny screens! Who cares if your smart phone has a six inch 16:9 screen when 16:9 television sets start off at over twice that size? When people are watching videos in a public place (like while riding in a subway) the six inch screen will suffice. When people settle down to watch actual programming however they are going to want, at the very least, a nineteen inch screen!
Reason 2-You cannot connect the cable/satellite box to a smartphone. People that are serious about their digital video programing are going to be watching programs that are broadcast from a digital cable or satellite service, and guess what, these devices were made to be connected to a television set of some sort! Smart phones can connect to the web and the web does offer streaming videos of many people’s favorite programs. Those two facts are going to always be tossed around by the opposition. Only sample episodes of programing are available to people that know how to install the proper software onto their smartphone considering that any particular website can be properly viewed by the phone’s browser in the first place! The aforementioned statement is one that television fans can use to counter attack!
Reason 3-Smart phones are too expensive! A person who theoretically decides to replace television with their smart phone is going to be paying 600 for a six inch screen that can only access the occasional episode made available to the web via some expensive phone service! For under 200 they can get a nineteen inch 16:9 television with a digital tuner installed to receive the HD broadcasts that the major networks share for free!
