Are cell phone distractions deadly while driving? I think the answer to that question is self-explanatory. Any distraction while driving can be deadly. Most of us are guilty of either talking on our cell phones or texting while driving. If we haven’t done it ourselves, then we’ve seen someone else doing it.

With the constant need to stay in touch every minute of the day, accidents that are caused by cell phone use have increased. Texting while driving is an obvious distraction. You are not paying attention to the road, and one or both of your hands are not on the steering wheel. Even using a hands-free device to talk is no less of a distraction than not using one. When you are engaged in conversation, your mind is not focused on driving making it easier to miss a red light or to stop in time when someone slows down in front of you.

The problem has become so widespread that many states have now made it illegal to use a cell phone while driving. However, some states allow the use of a hands-free device. Until the day comes where cars drive themselves, it would be wise to leave your cell phone alone while driving.

Getting a computer virus is something most people that own a computer try to avoid at all costs because a virus can really do serious damage to your hard drive and in some cases wipe out very important files. Some viruses are so malicious, it can even make your computer inoperable. It is a huge headache to try to fix. So the operative word when it comes to virus protection is UPDATES. Update your anti-virus protection frequently. However, if your computer has managed to get a virus, here is how you can destroy a virus in three steps:

First Search for a virus removal tool if you do not have anti-virus software or if the virus managed to disable whatever software you have.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . There are several free versions online or you can just buy software and install on your computer and may remove any malicious code.

Second, you may have to manually remove the virus if the software is unable to. What this means is you may have to do an online search for the virus and find steps on how to remove it. Many tech websites provide updates for most new malicious threats and how they were able to remove them, using step by step instructions.

Third, in order to ensure that the virus is successfully removed, you must reboot your computer. If not, there is a chance the virus could re-appear, re-infecting your files all over again.

No one wants to suffer the unfortunate problem of a security breach impacting a computer. When a hacker, virus, spyware, or other malevolent entity enters into your computer, the potential to destroy files or, worse, copy them for the purpose of theft.

This will lead many to purchase anti-virus programs and spyware/malware removal tools. Certainly, it is not a bad idea to install such programs since they do have intrinsic value which can lead to properly protecting your computer. However, there is another secret method which can be employed to ensure your computer remains properly safeguarded.

What is this secret method? Unless you positively have to be online, disconnect your computer from the internet. Breaching can only occur if you are online. If you are not online, then a breach is impossible as no connection exists.

Now, this approach does not eradicate problems that are currently present nor will it protect you once you do connect online again. However, the time you are disconnected from the internet can be considered a period of time which offers a reprieve from potential problematic breaches. And yes, these breaches can be severely problematic and serious. Hence, the utmost caution must be employed to reduce the likelihood issues such as this do not happen.

Overheating in laptops can become a serious problem over time. Not only can dampen the performance of your computer but it can also cause vital internal components to malfunction, and in some cases ruin them completely. In order to prevent your laptop from overheating there are three simple steps that can be followed to ensure proper maintenance of your machine.

The first step is to follow proper use technique. Those rubber feet on the bottom of your laptop aren’t there just for show. They are there to provide proper air circulation.I was looking for more information and found it here. This will allow the fans in your laptop, that keep all the internal components from melting together, to properly do their job. Rubber feet can be purchased at your local hardware store or computer shop, as they do tend to fall off over time.

The second step would be to clean out the machine every now and then with some canned air. Simply blow out the vent fan gently. Fans tend to get clogged often due to pet hair or dust.

The final step would be to lower the maximum processor state. This setting can be found within the advanced options settings of the change plan settings tab of the power management console.

Shopping for a new cell phone can get expensive quick but there are a few ways around paying the super high prices that most of these phones command.

Wait until a holiday – If you can hold off until around a major holiday then you can sometimes score a great deal.

Buy online – Many companies offer deals to consumers that make their purchase online so check the website of the carrier you want to use frequently. They often don’t advertise these deals.

Ask for a price break – I have gotten major discounts just by asking. The clerks in the store sometimes have the authority to offer up a killer deal if it helps make the sale. You can also ask if they have any previous models in stock. If they do, you may be able to negotiate a major discount on one.

Buy more than one – If you are going to have phones for more than one person on the same plan buy them both at the same time. You can usually get a good price this way, like buy one get one free or a rebate certificate for the entire purchase price.

Buy prepaid – Prepaid phones are great if you don’t talk every day and cost less than 50 in most cases.

And of course…

Sign a contract – Sign a 2 year contract and most cell phone providers will gladly give you your choice of several phones for free or give you an unheard of discount on top-of-the-line smartphones.

Once again I missed my favorite show last night. Thank goodness for my internet. I do not have cable TV. Why not? I do not need the extra expense and I can watch my shows on my time. The channels that the shows are on play the latest, full length versions. If I want to watch an earlier version that the channel is not showing, I can go to a free TV site to see it. Over the past 3 months I have watched movies that I want and when I want. I have watched live TV for news breaking stories. I have watched entire seasons of shows without having to wait week after week to see what happens. I can connect my computer to my big screen TV. I can bring my laptop to any part of my house and not miss any of the show or movie that I am watching. I can sit outside and not lose reception. There is no need for extra outlets for cable TV or electrical outlets. Once again the internet has proven to enhance my lifestyle. Do I miss cable TV? No. What I can’t find online I really don’t care about. If you like what you see, keep going: What Is a Reasonable Price For Basic Cable Service?

Getting a brand new cell phone can be exciting and fun. It is very tempting to want to play with it immediately upon arriving home and removing it from the box. Some consumers start to tinker with it without giving it a full initial charge on the charger. Instead of letting it sit for an hour or so they begin tinkering with it after five minutes on the charger. Later on these same users wonder why their cell phones are not charging properly for the rest of the time they have them. Are you making this mistake with your cell phone?

The initial charging time for a cell phone is very important. It sets the mode for how your battery will perform and conserve its energy from the first day on. Keeping the phone on the charger for the recommended time indicated in the users manual preserves the battery life. It can make the difference between being able to go a full day at work without bringing the charger along or wondering where your battery strength bars went after two hours. It is not always a defective phone that causes poor battery life. Sometimes it is failure to follow instructions.

When you have a wireless network, you want to make sure you are fully utilizing its capabilities, and make sure that you are getting the fastest connection possible. Here are five tips to improve your wireless network’s speed and get the most from your wi-fi.

First, find the right channel for your router. Make sure you don’t have a cordless phone or other peripherals which will interfere with your signal. Use a channel that other users aren’t using to optimize speed. Second, use an Open DNS.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. This will speed up your internet connection and your wireless speed. Third, move the router to a centralized location in your home. Although this is a basic tip, many people don’t do it. The shorter the distance from the ethernet connection, the quicker the speed. Fourth, change the wireless card settings. Changing the basic setting will minimize interferance and speed up your connection. Fifth, upgrade drivers and firmware and mantain your network. By upgrading your software it will have the latest and fastest updates available. Also, make sure your network is password protected so that your neighbor isn’t using it for free. The less interferance from outside users, the quicker your connection speeds will be.
